Afternoon tea with my sister, we tried to book but couldn’t get through on the phone so just turned up. A little disorganised but one of the girls helped us out, confirmed that we could swap out a tea for a coke for me as I don’t drink hot drinks. The selection was OK, but it could have been a selection from a range and it would have been nice if the comfy seating area was reserved for the high tea. Other than that it was nice, the sun was out and the bright airy room was pleasant to sit in, the food was tasty and the crustless sandwiches were fresh.

So you’re telling me that you can get a cactus, a bottle of wine, a bearded dragon and a slice of carrot cake all in the same vicinity? Where?! Dobbies, that’s where! Catering to all your gardening and pet needs whilst offering a range of interesting household decoratives whilst they’re at it! They have an impressive selection of candles and a nice little food section where you can pour you own oil and vinegar to take home.(And perhaps be a little lavish with the bread and olive dip samples whilst in that general area!) Did I mention there’s rabbits and fish and hamsters? Add a large slice of carrot cake to complete your afternoon at Dobbies and you have near perfection.

Great shop, but noticeably part of the Tesco Empire now. Food hall is great but the butchers display always looks a bit tired, excellent deli counter and friendly staff. Had hot chocolate in the coffee shop last weekend and it was disgusting, didn’t contain any milk and was luke warm, came out of a machine. Thank god it was free, won’t be wasting my membership vouchers on that again. The cofffees are fabulous. Regularly buy tropical fish and plants here, staff very knowledgeable. Worth a visit but don’t have a hot chocolate

Even if you’re not a keen gardener, Dobbies is a great shop. Obviously, they mainly sell plants, but they’re offering is actually very large and covers everything from artificial, indoor, conservatory, outdoor… There’s a maze outside to keep the nippers, old or young happy and there’s a very large coffee area.(try one of their scones — yum yum). At the other side of the shop there’s a dedicated deli area that offers all sorts of cooked meats, antipasta, breads, oils and chutneys.(Note, they’re steak pies are one of the best i’ve had) Christmas time at Dobbies is great too.(though my husband has now banned me from going !?) Fabulous decorations for all tastes and I think they have a sanata’s grotto too.

Dobbies is situated on the outskirts of Stirling. It combines a large selection of indoor and outdoor plants, along with clothing, gift, craft items and a food hall. There is also a café which serves a variety of hot and cold food and drink. Prices tend to be at the higher end of the scale where food in concerned but it is nice as a treat! Dobbies in Stirling is set out in a massive area, and doesn’t feel cramped or crowded. There is good signage, directing you easily to the various products. Staff are also very friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions you may have. The added bonus of Dobbies is the food hall. There are all kinds of unique and unusual delights to be fiound with a strong emphasis on local produce. It is a must if you visit Dobbies!

A very large branch of Dobbies on a short drive from the town centre. The choice here is phenomenal and I have often found myself wondering around for hours not knowin what to buy! Their plants are of a high quality and are well cared for and watered regulary. There is plently of staff available to help and assist you while you are shopping. The store has a good selection of garden furniture and ornaments. There is a small selection of cold and tropical fish for sale. They have some lovely trees and decoratings in at Christmas time. The store has a large café which serves a good selection of drinks, light lunches, cakes and snacks, the café looks out on to a small childrens play park which also has a maze to keep them amused while you have a cuppa. There is a large carpark with pleanty of disabled spaces.
