This is a quality delicatessen which provides a good selection of wines, cheeses, jams, chutneys, cold meats, sausages etc… I also liked their selection of soft drinks which had some universal flavours and were bottled in distinctive green bottles. I tried the cranberry and ginger which was gorgeous, whilst my friend bought the pomegranate and elder drink. The delicatessen also provides a catering service for buffets, weddings, and parties which is very popular, due to the excellent quality of the food provided.

Farthings at Home is a great deli, but it is very, very pricey in my estimations. I bought some maple syrup in there recently and it cost just under £6.00. Now I know that the cost of maple syrup has gone up inordinately, and that the brand(an average one) is organic, but this is a little extreme! It’s usual to pay over £4.00 for maple syrup in supermarkets, but you can find it cheaper at either Lidl or Aldi where I bought some for about £3.00, but I can’t remember exactly which one… try ‘em both! And. I think it was organic… but quite oddly, for a high cost food item, there is usually little to no difference in the pricing structure of organic and non-organ syrup. I still visit Fathings when I feel like a treat, and want to splash out. They do the best of everything, and so you’ll never be disappointed with the quality. If I was on a high income I’d shop here all the time. They have an extensive stock range, and so you can pretty much avoid the supermarket when buying the ingredients for dinner.

Farthings at home is the delicatessen that’s part of the restaurant/wine bar. It’s not attached to the building but it is only across the road. If you’re a big fan of Farthings(which I am) it’s a great place to pick up all kinds of treats that they serve in the restaurant. The cheeses are incredible and I subscribe to the theory that the stinkier the cheese the better. One good slab of Stilton had full control of my fridge for over a week. It’s all really good quality local produce but also stocks speciality treats. Around Christmas time this place is absolutely buzzing, not just because people are stocking up on gingerbread, cold cuts and cheeseboard goodies but because they sell gifts. I got my mum some lovely tapas bowls and stuffed olives as a stocking filler last year and she absolutely loved it.

this is part of farthings restaurant and bar 44. This is their deli which is well stocked, nice staff and lovely cakes but can be expensive. Still worth a visit as there’s some great produce.
