University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

My 89 year old Mum was admitted today, this is a very stressful time for us as we live in California! I called the Hospital in a panic today and the Staff were really helpful and put our minds at ease over the Phone, we were transferred quickly and efficiently to the correct ward. I’m happy Mum is in good Hands, thank you to everyone involved, we are truly grateful.
We will definitely visit all the Staff to thank them with all our Hearts when we get back to Coventry.

Spent some time in the Maternity unit. Staff are all great. Very helpful and genuinely caring. Food in the hospital is surprisingly good. Lots of choice and there is even a Costa there. Cash machines are available in the shop and they are free! Only downside is the parking cost. Don’t expect to enter the parking area without istantly losing £3. Its a ten pounds a day for us longer stay types! Aparently there are no enforcement systems in place and any tickets cannot be followed up according staff in the know. I didn’t risk this. Being a Dad is enough to deal with without losing my car!

Walsgrave hospital has had a major redevelopment and now is a super hospital complete with its own helicopter pad!
The new hospital is much better in terms of building and design.
There is lots more room.
Each and every patient room is bigger, cleaner, brighter and now better equiped.
There are more nurse stations per ward. Overall a bigger better place to be.
The car parks are the biggest negative going. The hospital does not own them and gets no money from them whatsoever. But the car park owner must be making a mint as the charges are somewhat ridiculous.
The hospital has many small shops inside now aswell, one weird point is that flowers are not aloud anymore in rooms, but on the ground floor there is a florist, now what message is that sending out?
There is the usual newsagent style shop too and a jewllers.
So overall ⁴⁄₅ for the annoying car park charges. But due to its technology and vast improvements over the last version with heli pad a much deserved 4!
