Beautiful place, staff really friendly and the food is delicious.

I would rate this place highly for the slightly mad décor alone. On historic Spon Street, Turmeric Gold is housed in a wooden beamed, 16th century building (I’ll admit the date is a guess).
Service is friendly but slow on weekend evenings. The food is good and they are fairly generous.
It has special ‘Maharaja’ tent-​booths which you can book for couples– I would absolutely do that for the kitsch value.
Otherwise there is something slightly lacking here which I just can’t put my finger on. It may just be that the service is just too slow, and as a result the meal can start to get a bit frustrating.

To start off, you’re provided a little shot glass with mango lassi to cleanse your palate — at this point, I already knew that I would like what is to come! Love the tandoori platter with shish kabobs, chicken, and duck (I think) tandoori. The papadams were puffed perfectly and are huge! All masalas were delicious. Every dish were downright homey — would highly recommend if you’re visiting Coventry.

Great food, some of the best Indian food in Coventry. Service wasn’t very good from the normal waiting staff but managment soon restored confidence.
Drinks where the biggest let down with soft drinks coming warm, flat and at £1.75 you only get just over quarter of a pint! They also only have draft Stella, Cobra etc coming in bottles, strange for an Indian.
