A fabulous old fashioned style PUB with a wealth of great brews. A small but wonderfully clean place that is very welcoming GOOD MUSIC, GOOD ATMOSPHERE. Lovely Landlady

The Windmill has long been a fave of mine, and for the last poster I can confirm they now do real cider (although only from boxes, alas) like Old Rosie and Weston’s Traditional Scrumpy.
My beer-​drinking friends also say good things about the real ales. It isn’t cheap, and if you’re looking for somewhere to impress someone, don’t come here but if you want a proper, old-​fashioned pub, with good drink and a fabulous atmosphere, this is the place.
Some other notes: esoteric music (varies from hard rock to metal to cheesy pop), VERY low beams/​lights anyone 6′+ will be bending over a lot, and I don’t know if they do food any more. Still, the character is what makes this pub what it is.

This pub now has a new landlady who has really cleaned things up. The tables and chairs are clean and some have been replaced. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of real ale and cider they used to do. They now serve the same as everyone else. It’s a lovely little place and with all the small rooms it can feel like you have the place to yourself.

Old fashioned kind of pub located right in the centre of one of the busiest parts of town at night. A bit gruby and can get busy but you always get a decent pint in here. There are also plenty of different seating areas which is good for groups.

I used to be in here all the time a few years ago, and loved it, but recently I feel it’s lost some of it’s appeal. It seems that just because the building is old, that’s a good enough excuse for it being a bit grubby, and when we went in during a quiet day there were glasses on the tables and full ashtrays. Still a good pub though, selling changing ales and putting on regular events.

My parents came down to visit and I wanted to take them just out for lunch but not to a student place.
The food was the higher end of pub grub although I’m not 100% they are still doing food anymore. My dad is a real ale drinker sohe was pleased.
It is old fashioned, traditional and full of character so a charming place to go with out the rowdy student atmosphere.

This pub has a great location on town near the skydome. It is great for nights out or even that day time drink.
They serve a selection of pub food at good prices. They serve lots of tradtional beers and is popular with beer drinkers.
They have a popular pub quiz on a sunday night.
The pub is very cool and traditional with an eirie kind of feel. It’s a really great place with lots of little rooms.
