The very best for fabulous cheap fabrics. I wanted 35 metres of purple silky fabric to cover tables for my party and this is where I found it. Not only did I have a great choice of colours and fabrics the staff were lovely and friendly. As I was buying a complete roll I got a discount too. While I was looking I saw loads of gorgeous pretty trims, a dressmakers sweet shop. It was not easy to park, very busy around the area, but worth a couple of trips round the block to find a space. I would make this my first stop for fabric and anything else for sewing and crafts.

Some people wouldnt think a material shop would be that interesting, but I love it in here! Its an aladdins cave of bits and bobs to do with crafts. It’s also a lot cheaper than most places, including the market. Whenever I am in here, I am always treated with respect and I recieve great amounts of help and advice. With lots of different materials and excessories this is the place to go for any kind of project!

Ah, the drapers I love going there for the beautiful fabrics. This is a really good place to grab silk in the most amazing shades and patterns for any kind of project. The best buys are the suit combinations, for which you get three different assorted fabrics, one very long(that will be the skirt part of the sari, so around three metres), one shorter but generally more ornate(out of which the fitted blouse would be made) and a long more delicate piece(to make a chuni, which is the long scarf that is worn around the head and shoulders). Prices go from very cheap to quite expensive, but you have to remember that you are getting quality silk, the difference in price reflectig the trendiness of the colours and patterns accordong to the latest fashion. It is also a great place to pick up a ready made suit or sari as they have a large collection upstairs. Perfect if you are invited to an indian wedding and don’t know what to wear. They also have an amazing choice of bracelet sets in all possible shades and cute shoes and sandals.
