It was a Sunday afternoon and myself along with a couple of friends were bored. We were quite hungry too. We all decided to check this place out as we had heard a lot about it. As this place is situated on a main road, parking was a bit hard to find. Before entering, remember to press the button on the side of the door. Once inside the place is like Doctor Who’s Tardis! Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance. This place is quite big. The bar is pretty well stocked with all the major lagers and beers. I was amazed by the extensive soft drinks selection. As the dedicated driver, I was on the softs and usually Orange juice and Coke get boring. I picked up the Menu and it seemed like a nice selection of food to choose from. I saw a screen with special offers and one of them was half price sizzlers on a Sunday. This seemed like the offer to go for so my friends and I ordered a couple of Mixed Grill Sizzlers and a naan to share. Everything came to under £15, which for four lads seemed good. We went to sit down at the back seating area and to my surprise they had a proper HD projector running Sky Sports HD! That just put the icing on the cake as the footie was on! The food arrived sizzling on a hot plate within approx 20 minutes. As the bar member had suggested 2 mixed grill sizllers were enough for 4 lads to snack on. All I can say is that I can’t wait to go back there with my friends. What a great chilled out place with superb food and a welcoming environment. I was pleasantly surprised that they have Free WiFi too!

A few people had mentioned this place to me and how good it was. I decided to give the Stanton Social Club a visit and all I can say is WOW! The Stanton Social Club is one of the hidden secrets of Coventry! They have an extensive Indian menu. I was told to try the sizzlers and I got a mixed Sizzler to snack on, then a Keema Bhuna and a naan bread for mains. The Sizzler came on a hot plate and it was HUGE and I could tell that the meat used was good quality as the fat was minimal. The desserts are also to an Indian theme. As I was too full from the mains, I did not try the deseerts. If you are looking for a chilled out place with a great atmosphere then the Stanton Social Club is it. Even if you fancy a game of Pool, they have 2 tables and Sky Sports running on multiple screens, so you won’t be bored. Give the stanton a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
