Beartown Tap

The Beartown Tap is an award winning, ‘proper’ pub, for the drinker who appreciates quality real ale. A regular in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, it’s throwing distance from the local brewery (beartown brewery) and has all their good stuff on tap in addition to cider and Erdinger (served in special glasses). There are also a wide variety of (some extremely strong) foreign bottled beers to sample.
Inside, the pub is well lit and there’s no TV, juke box, pool table or other distraction from your beer drinking experience. The décor consists of press cut-​outs, evidence of awards, bottles and pictures of the local rugby team.
On the down-​side, the cramped bar area gets crowded at busy times and the outside area isn’t very impressive.
This is the best pub in Congleton.
