this place is nice, its got a posh vibe, but not too posh that you feel like you shouldnt be there. the price discrimination affirms this, if you have almost a tenner to spend on a burger, then you will feel ok here. just enough to keep out what some would call riff raff. they do a good selection of beers, and the beer on tap is always at the right temperature and always tast exactly as they should. you can sit outside if its warm but people do sometimes look at you as if to say ’ oh so you have almost a tenner to spend on a burger’. but dont listen to them, they are just jealous.

The slug and lettuce is one of the nicest places in Colchester if you’re going for a pint and some lunch. The staff are courteous and the food is always near-​perfect. It is fairly expensive but well worth it in my opinion. It is situated about half-​way down the high street so it’s easy to get to, and there’s tables outside if you want a cigarette or want to eat in the sun. There is a good selection of drinks and they are served correctly. There is lovely décor inside with comfy sofa’s and chairs, and the restaurant is always immaculate.
