The first of our pub crawl for the Holiday catch ups this wasn’t a bad place to stop. Not crowded at all, though I think we got there pretty early. Easy enough to get our drinks, of which I got some sparkling of some sort, though it wasn’t a very good one. Friends got Corona, which is always a weird thing to see… Brits, drinking Corona, really? Seems like an odd fit, but if you like that sort of drink come and get it at AOH.
I like the set up of the place with the little loft upstairs. It seems that some of the furniture has seen better days or maybe the crowd gets a little rowdy, but it does a decent enough job as a place to go and get a drink while on your way to your next spot.

After Office Hours is an upmarket establishment on Colchester’s high street, aiming to catch the maturer side of potential customers. It does a nice range of food for lunches and dinners including tapas and sandwiches, and also has a full bar with a wide variety of spirits, cocktails and wine. However, the prices can be quite steep sometimes. It has a nice atmosphere which is helped by the friendly experienced staff and the nice music they usually play. In the evenings it is a nice place to go for a drink with friends, as it manages to retain that laid-​back atmosphere that has made it so popular even on a busy friday night.
