The Glenhead Tavern, or «O’Donnells» as it’s known to locals, used to be the best place to grab a pint in Duntocher. It was also great for families as it allowed children in the lounge before 6pm and provided a selection of toys in a little play area. However, the last few times I have visited, The Glenhead Tavern has been dead. Maybe I have just caught it on quiet days but it certainly wouldn’t encourage me to pop back in.

More entertainment-led that biggest competitor, the Duntiglennan, this spacious Duntocher bar seems to be ahead on points at the moment in the wrestle for the custom of locals. The Glenhead Tavern’s main selling point stems from its family friendliness which means on Sundays kids can often be seen running around or playing with the larger-than-average collection of toys they have on offer. However, the bar remains a good night spot in its own right and often offers live music or comedy nights which remain consistently popular. Like most bars in the area, this is predominantly a Celtic pub and can be busy when the football is on.
