The Gathering Restaurant and Lounge

Staff are on complete auto-​pilot, some of them are just rude, not that I blame them as they are working for a rotten company. Management have not got a clue what they are doing. Food is acceptable but WAAAAY overpriced. View from window is good if you can get a seat up in the corner, otherwise you’ll be sitting in a seat that might as well be in a bus station café.
This place needs to understand that with inflated prices comes better service and that they should not be the exception to that rule. They care not for returning business though, it’s an airport, they have a constant supply of passengers. Why would they bother providing better service? If Delaware North (the owners) don’t pull their finger out then airport management need to step in and sort it. I am sure there are better tenants who could use the retail space.

Quite slow service (don’t stop there if you are in a rush) and expensive for what it is.
Stopped here for lunch had a vegetarian burger with chips and my hubby a beef burger with 2 extra toppings which were sautéed mushrooms (what a joke! Mushrooms were not fresh and poorly sprinkled on top, £1.20 for it!) and cheddar cheese. He said his burger tasted nice but didn’t look really good. The extra toppings don’t worth it!
Mine was quite dry, salad on it was a very thing slice of tomato and a lettuce leave! The spicy beans pattie didn’t taste bad though. Chips were good.
Total of 30£ for 2 burgers with chips + tea and cappuccino, in my opinion doesn’t worth the money!
You can make it better with a fresh sandwich plus good coffee or juice from any other café and paying a lot less.

Situated Airside in Edinburgh Airport the Gathering us split between a «fast service» kiosk in departures directly in front of Gate 11 which is outside a dedicated sit down restaurant area.
Usually meet work colleagues here for breakfast following an early morning flight
Service can be a little slow if you’re in the restaurant but as we are never in a rush it doesn’t really affect us

The Gathering has an actual restaurant and lounge nearby, but this quicker spot is a large kiosk for tea, coffee, pastries, crepes, sandwiches, etc. Also, for some godforsaken reason, they have haggis and black pepper flavored potato chips. No thanks, I’ve had haggis twice in 10 days, and that’s enough to last a lifetime.
I got a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, toasted. The Scottish salmon was fresh and tasty, without any fishy overtones. Cream cheese is always a good addition to bagels, and this was no exception. The Gathering was great for a quick breakfast before our flight.
