Always enjoy our food here, or in any other Ask My wife likes the Lewes branch better, but I don’t mind. This branch is on the Eastgate near to all the shops and Cattle Market. It has close competition from Carluccio’s, Zizzi’s, Prezzo and several smaller places, but that’s a good thing. The place is comfortably busy, well spaced and the lighting is good.

Nice contemporary Italian restaurant. Good service. Enjoyed the house favorite shrimp as a starter. Order more bread(really thin freshly baked warm pizza dough with olive oil and garlic-yummy!) to finish up the sauce. Lasagna had rich béchamel sauce. Good desserts.

Arriving at about 12.30pm for lunch the place was half empty, but by 1pm it was full, with some people waiting for a table. A very lively place(well it was this particular Thursday) with helpful staff. My partner had a chicken salad which was very good. I had the mussels in a spicy sauce with toasted ciabatta bread. Some of the mussels had been over cook but all in all it was very good. It helped that we had downloaded a 2 for 1 meal voucher. They had a good selection of wines.

My husband and I went here for our joint birthdays celebration lunch and took our 1-year-old son for his first restaurant visit. What fabulous service as we ll as yummy food and a lively exciting atmosphere — we all loved it and had a fabulous time. My son was totally in his element soaking up the fun and being waited on hand and foot — and although the childrens menu is a fixed £5.95 for 3 courses and he wouldn’t eat so much, our lovely waitress brought him his own garlic bread and mini salad and didn’t charge for it, then when we ordered him a portion of ice cream for pud, she put an extra scoop in(as I didn’t rder a pud and said I’d finish off any he left!) AND didn’t charge us for that or my husband’s, as we’d had to wait a while for it! The only thing I would say is if you have very young children, the high chairs don’t have a high back so you’ll need to keep a close eye on them so they don’t fall out. But overall definitely highly recommended!
