We called in to the Sunday buffet whilst exploring Chester one day, I always thought the restarant had a good reputation and we were looking forward to a nice meal, sadly the food quality was very poor and the choice for a buffet was very limited, there were only a few starters to choose from and they looked like the «left overs» from the night before, the main coarse was just as disapointing, there was a choice of two, one was a mix of vegatables and the other looked like a chicken dish, I chose the chicken dish, then found it was in fact curried potato!!! For almost £10 a head to serve such cheap poor quality dishes was a huge let down.

excellent Chinese food in a smart setting. Serves tradition Chinese beers. Superb lunch offer available during the week. Also does takeaways. Great in the evening for a gang of diners.

Although I would say that this restaurant is not the best chinese in chester I have to say that it offers excellent value for money. On a sunday they do all you can eat where they give you a menu and you can order anything you want off it. This costs approx £11.50. The servioce as usual in a chinese restaurant is excellent, they are very efficient.
Would definately recommend coming here on a sunday for the all you can eat, however, any other time would say go somewhere you spend a bit more but that offers better quality food.

What a lovely restaurant. Its above iceland in town and you can use the parking there which is an instant good point to the slow boat. In my case it means i can take the grandparents to those all important meals! Upon getting up into the restaurant you walk into an authentic and atmospheric restaurant with nice views. The tables are well laid out and the bar looks great, adding to the atmosphere of the venue.
Also, the food is good! We usually have a banquet meal when we go and it always tastes amazing. Obviously if you don’t so much like chinese food this place isn’t for you. But i think its a really good place to go out for a special occasion. And highly recommend it.

Good restaurant in a good central location on Frodsham St, near Cow Lane Bridge 5 minutes walk approx from the Cross. But it can get very busy at times.

Yuck is my best discription of the slow boat in chester. The food, at the risk of sounding strange, didn’t have a very authentic flavour to it. To me it tasted very much like what you would buy in the form of a ready meal from a supermarket and the spring rolls I am convinced were nuked in the microwave. Not the best eating experience I have ever had but I can safely say one of the worst chinese meals I’ve ever had.
