Like Bench, Fat Face was started by two mates in the late eighties and has slowly grown into an international company with stores scattered across the UK and Europe. Their unique selling point is that they make clothes that look like they were made for surfing, snowboarding, ski-ing, cycling and rollerblading but are usually worn for chilling out! I’m not really a fan of the baggy jeans, tee-shirts, sweaters and hoodies look but have to admit, Fat Face’s clothes seem better quality than some of their competitors. Their range of clothes aren’t biased towards men either; they sell colourful cotton tees, blouses, sweaters, cargo pants, jeans and skirts for girls and children too. This store also has a selection of canvas sneakers, sandals and flip flops.

This shop is down a side street, next to Natwest bank. It also has its main competitors White Stuff just over the road. The shop makes great use of the small space it occupies and manages to stock mens, womens and childrens clothing as well as accessories and jewellery. The staff are really nice and friendly people, and really helpful too. They have a good range in the womenswear section which is the biggest part of the store. They are also able to mail order for you, or from another store, or you can mail order or buy online yourself if you so wish. Their sizes go from 6 – 18 in ladieswear, and from a baby-12 year old in kidswear. Menswear goes from S-XXL. All their sizes are very generous and they also sell footwear and some snowboarding and surfing gear. Well worth looking whether you’re sporty or not.
