Storyteller Restaurant

I went here for lunch and I have to say it was delicious. It’s a very peaceful atmosphere during lunch. Also great prices on food, got a two course meal for 10 pounds. The only faulty thing is how long it takes to make the food. If you’re in a hurry this is not the place for you but for me the wait was well worth it because the quality of the food.

After some fantastic appetizers, I had high hopes for the main courses. I had the creole seafood dish, which unfortunately was a bit over cooked when it comes to the fish and the sauce was not very good compared to other seafood jambalaya style dishes I have had. My wife’s Peruvian chicken was very good though. Can’t fault the cocktails and drinks list though. Finally, service was confused and semi poor at best. Having said that, will likely be back at some point, if nothing else for the drinks list…

After a busy day near Cheltenham, my family who live in the UK suggested this restaurant as they have dined here in the past. We called ahead and were given a 6 PM reservation. We arrived and were seated promtly. The table size for 7 people, however, was very cramped. Food was decent but not outstanding. I was dissapointed that some of the higher priced entrees did not have bread or somthing else to control one’s appetite. No one had a bad meal, but it was not outstanding (meaning worth the price). So, I would try this place again, but, only if I was in Cheltenham. Not worth driving to from a farther distance.

We went here with a large group (~14), and it took upwards of an hour and a half to get our food after we put our order in. There was some form of special night happening there it seemed, though we were told our order was in before them. Also, the waiting staff seemed flustered and short-​tempered, though again this may have been a byproduct of the other large groups in there.
That being said, the food was pretty good with fairly robust flavors, though depending on what you get you may be disappointed with the portion size.
Highlights: Lowenbrau & Asahi on draught, array of food flavors from around the world (not just American)
All in all, I wouldn’t go out of my way to return, though wouldn’t complain if I ended up there again (as long as they were quicker with the food).

Reasonable food, not cheap but quite a nice atmosphere. Only eaten here the once, probably would try somewhere different if i was in the area again.

We ate here last weekend and really enjoyed it, different food and décor to the majority of restaurants, but well prepared and served. Lots of atmosphere and not particularly expensive.

funky place and unusual things on the menu, I had Ostricth, Which was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t that bad on price but it wasn’t cheap either and drinks do piles on the pounds! Like most places, I guess… But worth a go as it’s quirky and quite relaxing! enjoy

I’m amazed that Storyteller gets such great reviews, I just don’t get why it’s so great. I found the service was quite poor (slow and slightly surly) and the food was at best mediocre. The dining area is quite cramped as they have tried to cram as many tables as possible into the space.
Maybe it’s just not my kind of place, but it’s definately not somewhere I recommend as a good place to eat in Cheltenham.

I absolutely love eating here, always that slightly bit different menu to choose from. The décor is warm and inviting with lovely colours. I love the different sections and and quieter areas to eat. I’ve been in the day and the nightime. the kids love it here too always something nice to choose

Not in the right category at all — Fast Food and American?! The cuisine was long ago described to me as Pacific Rim — it has some American influence (ribs, steak and burritos) but with distinctly different twists. Great imaginative food. Brilliant regular events like themed food nights and wine nights. Good for children in the day time, with a menu that appeals to them whilst not being quite the norm.
