I had the pleasure of dining here when I visited Chelmsford three months ago. It is top notch with excellent food and service. I found the Leek and Chestnut Pie and Warm Chicken Liver Salad to be outstanding. The salad is made from fresh livers, not a mushy pâté as many of these dishes are. The pomegranite dressing is also made fresh and adds a delicious touch to the already wonderful salad. Chef Tristan Easter was also gracious enough to share some recipes with me for a column I write for a small paper here in the states. That in itself is unusual as many chefs are quite protective but he didn’t hesitate when I asked for them. I’m definitely looking forward to having another great meal here when I return to the UK.
