La Tasca

If you’ve never been then I’m afraid you’ve missed some very nice food as this restaurant has now gone!
Despite being a chain restaurant it was very good and the food was generally of a very good standard. Some of the dishes were outstanding and hopefully they are still replicated at other La Tasca restaurants…
So if you fancy Tapas and have a La Tasca near you then I would happily give it go.

We tried this restaurant on the off chance, and were given the last table available that was a bit cramped, right next to a door that was repeatedly used by kitchen staff during the course of our meal. The food was slow but the restaurant was very busy. The various tapas ranged in quality from ok to good. Enjoyed a reasonable Rioja wine. Staff were friendly and polite. Will possibly try again but ensure we book and don’t get «that table».

After having Authentic Spanish Tapas I decided when I moved to Chelmsford to try La Tasca with my family and I must say it was dire:(
This was the most shocking place Ive ever eaten! The time it took to get served was ridiculously long, from the time we ordered our drinks some of us got them some didnt, until the first starter arriving, it was a shambles:(2 hours later and we still didnt have our main which was the risotta which arrived finally, we went to tuck in, our hunger having evaporated with the length of time it took for it to arrive and it was quite plainly disgusting, it was uneatable, packed full of salt and just a pan of salty stodge, we left deflated as it was my sons birthday, the bill was ridiculously high for the small portions and we must have seen at least 8 ppl leave as they couldnt be bothered waiting for their drinks and food any longer, I complained and granted they sent me a voucher with apologies however the voucher was nowhere near the bill we paid in the first place, we went back a second time, the place was empty and still bad service and the food disgusting, Im afraid I will not be back which is such a shame as the place itself is a lovely decorative place its the food and staff that let it down

This was my first ever visit to a Tapas restaurant. Now the food is not my sort of thing so I had to keep an open mind. However what I had was hot, tasted good and the staff were friendly. I does what it says on the tin, and it does it well.

Simply gorgeous Spanish Tapas served in a restaurant with a really relaxing atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is superb. La Tasca often have good deals on food, including tapas for a tenner, and two for one offers, well worth checking out their website before you go for vouchers. Best tapas bar in Chelmsford easily.
