It is such a novelty to visit home. Breakfast is the best here. Visited Sunday morning last weekend and its def a lot cheaper than London but was amazing. Well done.

Just perfect breakfast to cure a hangover! Also really nice if you enjoy a proper English(or American) breakfast. During the day, you will find lots of students at Café37, who are usually hungover too. Great! Also, a lot of locals like to visit Café 37. I just love the atmosphere of this breakfast Café and I will definitely come back!

I went here last month with my daughter who is a student at Cardiff University. She said that she and her friends go here often because of the big portions of food and the cheap price. Nothing like a great big English breakfast on a Sunday morning with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, etc! I had just that and loved it. The coffee isn’t anything to write home about, but they like to see themselves as something of a quasi-American diner, so maybe they got the coffee just right too! We actually went there two mornings and the food was great. The staff, an older man and woman, who I assumed are the owner were very polite and charming. Check this place out if you get a chance.

Like many cafes and takeaways in Cathays, Café 37 doesn’t look much. I must have walked past a dozen times before really noticing it, but that can be said for a lot of places in Cathays as well. Term time sees Café 37 overrun with students, the breakfasts seem to be the perfect meal for a hungover student who is feeling the effects of a long night. The size of the meal might force that student into a different kind of hangover though, meat sweats will probably ensue and it’s likely no further food will be required that day. On my scorecard though, that is the mark of a really good café. If you can still stand after eating a big breakfast, they haven’t done their job. It gets a little bit quieter when it’s not term time but I prefer it when there’s a buzz and everyone’s experiencing the delights of the big American breakfast bonanza.

I’m not very keen on the look of Café 37, with its dull brown exterior, but the same can’t be said for the area’s many students who seem to flock to this place and love it. If you get beyond the rather unattractive shop front and venture inside, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. It serves huge, belly-busting breakfasts, stuffing students with enough food to last them until well after lectures finish. The plates return to the kitchen virtually clean, so the food obviously goes down well — and if you miss out on breakfast, they do similarly proportioned lunches, too. The staff are generally a cheery bunch, despite being surrounded by hungover students, and during term time the place is a hub of activity.

Café 37 is always looking pretty busy, and it is easy to see why. Providing generously portioned breakfasts and a tempting array of paninis, it comes as no surprise that this is a popular hang-out for students and locals alike. One of the most pleasing aspects of Café 37 is that they appreciate the importance of extras. Breakfasts always come with large portions of the vegetables you’re unlikely to see on a ‘spoons menu, and are accompanied with a choice of drink and some toast. Similarly, if you order a sandwich, your plate will come loaded with chips and coleslaw so that you know you’re getting a real meal. And with such cheery deals, come happy customers. And with happy customers come satisfied staff. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome here and if you have a weird request, they will do their best to accommodate it… and I being the world’s most awkward customer know this for sure! URBANCHALLENGE: Look out for seasonal deals such as their inevitably popular half price deals on food.

Café 37 is situated on Salisbury road amidst the student central that is Cathays. This place will generally be filled by students, out of term time you will find this place a little bit dead. I had a bit of a bad experience here once, let me tell you the story — it’s not that good a story but none the less I’ll carry on. It was a rainy day and I had just sold my car to some guy who had to collect it in the midst of this rainstorm. I had never been to Café 37 before and decided that as it was early morning, something I rarely am awake for and it was raining, that I should have a little stop off in Café 37. I ordered the egg on toast option as despite the car sale, I was still a little poor. The egg was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen, it was kind of foamy and tasted pretty bad. For this reason I have not returned. I should give this place a second chance really, but I keep thinking to myself ‘they screwed up egg on toast, how does anyone do that?’. Sorry Café 37, I’m sure I’ll give you another chance one day, it just takes me a while to get over these things.

Easily my favourite place in the world, when Im hungover. Very a student breakfast/lunch bar there is always a friendly/chilled atmosphere in here. I always order the breakfast 37 which has the Bhudda(One with everything) It’s about the size of the Fiji island and will knock your hangover for 6 if you can finish it. Generally I won’t eat for the rest of the day afterwards. The staff here are fantastic. Always so friendly and really can’t do enough for you, it is always so pleasant to be served by them. Prices are fine here aswell. For just over £6 you will the breakfast of a lifetime and a drink with that, aswell as a cuppa tea. It surely has to be a testament that I can give such a glowing review to somewhere I only go when I feel exceptionally terrible.
