The Chestnut Inn is a solid and dependable local bar and restaurant. It is you r stereotypical old country pub, located in the middle of nowhere, and the type of place that is apparently closing down nationwide, so it is good to see it still thriving. It is split into two sections: there is the sports bar area with a large TV for the big sporting events and a pool table for whittling time away, and a a larger area with booths and seated areas for the more casual drinker. From the back of the casual area there is a restaurant area that is actually quite nice. The drinks here are your standard pub prices, so there is nothing that special. The food here us actually surprisingly good, and is proper restaurant food rather than the usual pub grub fare. I have had delicious salmon from here and my girlfriend didn’t regret her decision to get pan seared duck for a bit of a change. Unilocaler tip? The owner John is a HUGE Man Utd fan. If you want to perhaps garner something free, pretend you are too and you might be on the road to success!
