Happy Garden

Couldn’t muster up any more than an average for this Chinese, and definitely not one I would really choose to go to.
I have eaten out of it a handful of times over the years due to being in the pub next door, and want to get something to take home with me to eat. This place is the obvious choice as it’s right next door and I can grab something while waiting on my taxi.
Any time I’ve been in the food has been passible but nothing special. They offer all the usual dishes you’d expect.
Not awful, but there are better options.

The Happy Garden is a late night Chinese in Joymount, conveniently located right beside Ownies, which is perfect for those Friday or Saturday nights when you come out of the bar after a few drinks
and decide that you simply must have something to eat for when you get home.
The interior is bright and has plenty of seating (because it can get pretty packed at the bar kicking out time) with a large menu up on the wall with a plethora of dishes available to take away, all at reasonable prices.
The staff are friendly and upbeat which is really something, considering at that time of night they usually have slurring drunken punters to contend with.
Food wise, I have to admit, there are nicer Chineses in Carrick, but they don’t need to worry about this, due to their location and late night opening, they will always do a roaring trade.

This is a really tasty chinese restaurant with great variety and friendly staff. It’s also very good value for money and since its situated next to ownies, its very handy for a late night snack after a few drinks!

Want a great Chinese takeaway? Try the Happy Garden, they do a special meal for two or more people at about £7.50 a head. Gives you a choice of starters, main dishes (with even a choice of some european dishes is available) and also the obligatory portion of prawn crackers.
Do you like hot, as in chilli hot, food? All their dishes described as hot are firey! probably why I like their food! Beware if you are of a delicate diposition, your tast buds are about to be assaulted. Great intit!
