Had a fantastic time at this Hotel! I reserved a single bed room. Easy to walk to(granted you can take a very cheap cab ride there), i felt very secure on the premise, my bed was super cozy and comfortable, the décor was absolutely adorable, the breakfast bar was lovely, and the hotel staff were VERY nice! I did have a hard time calling them when i first arrived, my cell phone couldnt connect, i eventually had to ask someone else to use their phone. I think it has something to do with the area code. but once I made contact it was smooth sailing from there! I loved the mirrors with the quotes on them, the chandeliers and the paintings. I had room 12 which was nice and tucked away so I had all the privacy i wanted. The bathroom was perfect and private. They had a sheet of useful information in my room, including cab estimates, restaurants, pubs, and hotel information. Its so close to city center which was amazing! After spending a lot of the time at the Castle and the city center, i came back to relax and turn on the tv. Only to find out there was another rugby match! So I headed to a recommended pub just down the street where I met some GREAT people. The only downfall is that i couldnt spend more time at this Hotel and in Cardiff! I will be back to the Abbey Hotel!

Based on a tree lined street in the ‘Notting Hill’ area of Cardiff known as Pontcanna, this hotel was built in 1898. It is spread over two Victorian houses which retain their original features. New owners took over the hotel in January 2006 and are completely refurbishing all bedrooms. The Abbey Hotel has 26 bedrooms ranging from a single room to large family rooms en-suite, all rooms have televisions and hospitality trays. Included in the room rate is a traditional English breakfast or a choice of cereals. Fax Facilities are available and wireless internet access is available from certain rooms. Interesting Fact: Richard Burton attended elocution lessons in the lounge of No 151. Yes Way!
