Normally I wouldn’t write about a Tesco superstore, but this one made the news! I remember when this story hit back in January, after this particular grocery store asked its customers not to shop in their pyjamas or bare feet. According to the BBC, notices had been put up in the chain’s supermarket in St Mellons saying: «To avoid causing offence or embarrassment to others we ask that our customers are appropriately dressed when visiting our store(footwear must be worn at all times and no nightwear is permitted).» Evidently a few shoppers were refused entry for wearing pyjama bottoms, which apparently didn’t go down well with the residents of St Mellons. A really close mate of mine used to live out in St Mellon’s and I’ve been here a few times with her, and admittedly it’s not one of my favourite Tesco supermarkets, but nevertheless it serves its purpose as a mega grocery store.
