South Wales Carpets, at the far end of Clifton Street where cars exit to go over the bridge onto Splott Road, is under new management. Colin Kavanagh took over the business in March of this year and says that he is weathering the storm okay. This is a large business, with two huge shop floor areas devoted to selling carpets and household furniture, so neither the recession or the one way system can dent the business too seriously. South Wales Carpets is an attractive proposition. It offers reasonable quality products at discount prices, and so people are still willing to make the effort to use the store, regardless of the obstacle course they now have to endure in order to get here. Being at the end of the street also means that it’s entirely feasible to park your car on a neighbouring road and walk twenty meters to access the shop. This is a real blessing, and one that traders further up the street would give their right arm for! Fax: 2920488806
