San Domenico Stringed Instruments

This is a fantastic shop which really offers amazing service and knowledge about all stringed instruments. Although it’s been years since I played the violin, I used to get all my rosin from this place and the smell still reminds me of it.
There is something wholesome and traditional about proper violins shops, and I’m not quite sure what it is, but it’s in San Domenico in abundance. It’s inspiring, quite frankly. Every time I pass the shop now I’m filled with guilt because I no longer take the time to play… in fact I just gave away my violin, for shame.
I wrote a review on Hobbycraft not too long ago, and commented that it make you want to take on every hobby and make every craft. This shop is the same. You can almost hear the concertos as you walk in through the door.
The staff/​owners of this shop are extremely helpful, and clearly know their craft very well indeed. Unlike the gammy assistants in Cranes or Gamlins, you get the impression that they could restring you instrument blindfolded.
