Countisbury Avenue is Llanrumney is not the place you expect to see a high street store. The street is a miniature shopping centre, with an array of locally owned and managed shops with a set of dilapidated flats above it that look like they could crumble at any moment. We’ve got a flower seller, a grocers, three butches, two bakers, sadly, no candlestick makers, but two dentists and a hairdressers. And then, a Peacocks. In the row of worn down signs that look half a gust of wind away from giving up the ghost altogether, it’s odd to see the crisp, clean image of Peacocks among them. Not that Peacocks is particularly fancy; it’s just that it’s slightly more fancy that Countisbury Avenue. But we’re ever so glad it’s there. Otherwise, Llanrumney would be reduced to buying all its clothes from the bags of those dodgy, but ultimately very lovely men whose cousin found a stash of clothes somewhere and is looking to sell them on at a bargain price for a quick sale. Instead, Peacocks lets the local populace deck themselves out in something that looks at least close to fashion rather than relying on tracksuits the whole time.

totally agree with twinkle-star re this store, no gents clothes though, so if you want mens then the nearest store is in Albany Road. Peakcocks is coming up in the world, but their newest stuff in def in the bigger stores, not bad though. always worth a quick look.

For a cheap shop in a not so lovely area this place isn’t too bad. Don’t go in expecting miracles or attentive staff but there are a few decent items. Its the only clothes shop in Llanrumney so there isn’t much else to choose but i’ve netted a few bargains in the way of basic items for work.
