Oscars Bar & Grill

Oscars is one of my favourite eating venues for lunch in Cowbridge. They have an outside garden which is perfect if the weather is on your side but inside is just as nice. Modern décor with fashionable colours gives the place a sleek classy look which suits many of the business men you can find eating here each lunch time. The portions tend to be pretty small so if your hungry it’s definitely worth ordering 2 main dishes or sharing a few dishes available on the menu. Small, quick and appetising describes the food perfectly, unfortunately the bill doesn’t follow this pattern by costing you a small fortune for a light lunch.

Mostly though I’d like to talk about the full bar and ridiculous choice of booze on offer, because there is just so much…
The cocktails are incredible, from the classic cosmopolitan to something chocolately/​filled with liqueur that you’ll have to excuse me for not remembering fully because I was mildly intoxicated by this point.
The bar staff really do know their stuff and will whip you up something depending on your mood or what you fancy drinking.
If you do plan on actually eating, which you really should because it’s amazing, then the menu even suggests wines to go with particular dishes (how very thoughtful of them!).
I would strongly recommend the mushroom pasta with dried tomatoes and truffle oil. It’s so indulgent but oh so worth that extra half our at the gym.
For the feeling of being spoiled without spending an arm and a leg, head to Oscars, really.

Quite a lot of seating. They also have outdoor seating. Quite expensive and quite small portions but still very popular not just with workers on lunch but with families too.
