Don’t bother guys. I took my MTB in for a replacement chain, cassette and small and medium front rings. Bike had been operating perfectly up to this point, just a few worn teeth. Three days later I picked the bike up and subsequently discoverered that the chain would not shift onto the small front chain ring. Took bike back to shop and was told that the original Shimano LX front dérailleur must be worn out. Needed replacing. Left bike for a further four days. Picked bike up and test rode road it outside shop. Still wouldn’t shift onto small ring. At the shop for 45 minutes while they tried to fix it. Mechanic test rode it several times, as I did. Installed yet another dérailleur, I test rode the bike fault still evident. I lost patience and didn’t return to shop just took bike home. Will either have to fix it myself or take it to another bike shop to have the problem rectified. Upshot: Bike still not right. Anguish + Charged £100 for work(including a dérailleur that I did not need!). Kept returning the bike to me knowing that it still wasn’t fixed! Why? I now have a rather ‘agricultural’ front dérailleur fitted, and will have to refit original! Positive: saved myself forking out(pun intended) £4,700 for a Transition Bandit 1. Which is what I was about to purchase from this shop. No way.

There is nothing these guys dont know about bikes! I was very impressed with the quality of service and advice I got here yesterday when looking for a new bike for the summer. I thought it would cost the earth and was very pleasantly surprised with the price and I just feel these guys deserve recognition.
