One of the better dining experiences of my life. We opted for the Chef’s menu and let Chef Gomes have at our palates. We found the dishes not only incredibly full of flavor, but also beautifully presented. The Pepper soup with ginger and the tandoori chicken and shrimp were among the best. The meat was smoked using nitrogen(I think) and came in a jar that when opened released a fragrant and misty cloud. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere. the chefs came out repeatedly to describe the meals and proudly and loudly announced each dish creating a bazaar feel. We can’t recommend this place enough.

I had the Moksh Delight as a starter with the fantastic Chocolate Orange Chicken Tikka, Keema with Beetroot Foam and Pork Belly Curry. The main was Pork Curry from the Goan region of India. I dined with 2 others and the food was very good quality. Presentation was superb and excellent value for money.

I had a dinner in Moksh last night and I absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, the service was lovely and the whole atmosphere was very enjoyable. I especially loved the variety of lovely dips that came with the Papadams. Also they bring you a tasty ginger drink in the beginning of your meal and home-made cotton candy(in a tree!!!) after dinner — whoa! Moksh is located in Cardiff Bay, so the location is great as well.

I love Moksh. That’s all I really need to write about this place. The king prawn vindaloo is to die for. The food is always fresh and there is a really nice ambience. The staff are super helpful and although a meal here will set you back about £70-£80 for two with wine, it is well worth it. I first visited this place for a 40th birthday meal/evening out. There were around 14 of us in the group and although the restaurant isn’t huge, it felt like they really went out of their way to accommodate us. It was midweek and we did have to book well in advance(naturally, for such a large group) but we all had a really special evening. I have since been back several times and will continue to do so.

Moksh is cool. If only three words were enough because that’s what it is. Cool, a little pricey and… well…nice! The food is good and plentiful although i went with boyfriend in tow whose an incredibly fussy eater! But nevertheless we found something he reasonably liked so the evening was a success! The one issue i have with this place is it lacks in the views that other restaurants have to offer down the bay, which means the place is often overlooked and can be on the quirt side. Service is good but not brilliant, there’s little interaction with staff which some people like i suppose, me personally, i like life stories and tails of woe! Very stylish and sheik(see what i did there?) Moksh is the type of place a small group goes, i wouldn’t recommend it for a date but then again i’m not a date type of bird! If you like a curry and don’t really mind where your going, head here! If your after a curry with a view and some belly dancers or elephants head to Cardiff airport.

When eating down the bar, typically people associate their experience with the lovely views across to the barrage, although Moksh sits around the corner down a quieter side street. However, despite the fact it cannot offer picturesque views, the road it lies upon is pedestrianised and quite peaceful. Greeted by an startling bright orange sign, guests are likely to be impressed by the stylish and sophisticated interior which sets a great atmosphere. To some extent, the stylish insides do determent from the authenticity that some great Indians have, but I suppose this is the 21st century. The food is nice, although I didn’t think think it was exceptional. Given the high quality surroundings, as well as the inspiring sounding menu, I was hoping for big things. What I received was indeed nice food, although it wasn’t quite worth the fairly high price. By no means a bad experience, and large groups of friends will love the atmosphere and vibe in here. Good food, just not exceptional food.

The food is excellent and the spices are well balanced in the meal so that you can pick out the unique flavours. The staff are really polite and the last time I went with my parents they gave me a ice cream desert as part of the order. Would highly recommend the taster selection which includes several courses. Good presentation with good lighting and a nice relax atmosphere all add to a very pleasant evening out.

I am a huge fan of Indian food but less of a fan of this restaurant. I have been here a few times and yes it is nice food, good service and a clean stylish environment but it seems to be missing that Va Va VOOOM I am looking for. I cant quite put my finger on what it is about this restaurant I am not keen on… So maybe it is as simple as I am just not ordering the right dishes! The smells coming from this restaurant will tingle your taste buds but it may take a few visits before you find the ultimate dish you are looking for. Give it a go… and be sure to message me if you find that superlicious nosh I seem to keep missing.

I’ve walked past Moksh a million times, well several hundred anyway and was never tempted in because of its location. it’s not that it out the way or anything but it is at the entrance to Mermaid Quay and sometimes you don’t feel like going to the first restaurant you pass. Anyway one Friday night a group of us were having a few drinks in Salt bar and before you know it somebody mentioned it was 11pm. We downed our drinks faster than you could say«cheers» and rushed to Cosmo only to discover they were not taking anymore customers. As one our whole group turned around with a disappointed look on our faces and saw the welcoming sign of Moksh. Were they still serving? No, only kidding of course they were. In fact they welcomed our crowd in through their door with a warm accommodating smile The service, atmosphere, and most importantly the food was great. If I remember rightly there was a great variety on the menu and a lot of it was not your hum drum normal trudge of the fair. I have only one disappointment — I have not been there again — I don’t know why it must be because of the reason I explained above.

With a warm and intimate setting(extra points for candles on the tables), Moksh is one of the more distinctive restaurants in the Bay, catering more to discerning foodies than a mob of drunkards clamouring for a filling takeaway. Normally I’m in the latter category, but sometimes it’s nice to sit down and enjoy a curry in an impressive and modern environment; plus, I love any restaurant where I can sit near the windows and people watch. Overall, I found the dishes to be beautifully presented, but the taste was nothing too spectacular; it was a laudable effort, but the result was a substandard relation to higher-calibre fare found in Indian restaurants like Mint & Mustard. Moksh menu items are a bit more expensive than what I’d usually like to spend on a curry, but I’d definitely return to try their lunch menu, as I’m sure it’s the same sort of food but priced at a fraction of the cost.

Ok so Moksh isn’t the biggest of restaurants in the Bay and it doesn’t really have any views, but it does do consistently good food. The flavours are very good here and I could eat the naan bread on its own all day. Inside is very comfortable and the service is very good. The waiters are attentive and its quite a romantic sort of place for dinner with table candles flickering away. The menu is impressive and has grown a fair bit over the years with some unusual additions such as seasonal kangaroo, boar or crocodile! I can recommend the Taster meal, a bargain I think at £25 per person. Its not the cheapest Indian around but it is the best in the area.

The smells that come from Moksh pretty much will make you float like Daffy Duck into their restaurant. It was at lunch recently I found myself floating in through the beautiful sunny/golden decorated area. Feeling particularly brave I went for the fiery lamb curry… Whoa mama it was hot, but was utterly delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and was very tender. They also allow you to return wet when you jump into the Bay water quickly after you realise you’ve just swallowed hot lava. The great thing about the lunch menu is that it’s £8, bargain. That really is worth it for the décor, lovely staff and food.
