Wagamama

Everything was great. I ordered pork ramen and black rice, both tasted really good. The only problem is sharing a table with other people when you are a couple.

I know Zuma or Koya are better than Wagamama and that as a chain, it’s just not as good, but I love it. Their teriyaki chicken donburi is my go-​to comfort food and the takeaway option means it’s the meal I go to when I can’t be bothered to cook and want some pseudo healthy food.
Their Katsu curry has just the right amount of sweetness and spice, their sweet ginger and apple gyoza is beautiful and I want their tori kara age NOOOWWW.
Of course, not everything on their menu is amazing. Some of the cheesecakes are lacking in flavour and have a slightly cloying feel to them and the juices are WAY overpriced for what they are, take far too long to make and don’t taste particularly good and £5 for a bit of raw salad? You’ve got to be kidding me.
But I order from them all the time and they hardly ever fail to deliver. It’s nearly always good, it’s a decent price for Japanese and you’ll always get seated quickly if you eat in. The placing of it is a bit weird and it seems like they’ve had the building work around it for years now but if you can avoid that and focus on the food, atmosphere and company, it’s a joy.

Always great consistent food and service. I use their take away service all of the time and have never once been disappointed — it’s a healthy alternative to the other fast food chains out there!
Their katsu curry is to die for and the chilli beef ramen is a close second.
A nice touch is their gluten free menu as I’ve been here a couple of times with a celiac friend — it’s one of the few chains she can visit!

Consistent, fresh, reasonably priced and brilliant if you have children.
We went here for lunch on Saturday and I was really impressed overall. We had a 2 year old with us and I was amazed at how geared up for children they are — they have junior chop-​sticks which are great and a good menu for kids.
We had a range of dishes between the four of us. The chilli squid really stood out from the starters we had, very fresh with a light batter and zingy dipping sauce. The low point was the chicken katsu curry which was pretty bland.
All in all a really nice place for lunch.

Good old Wagamama, and as always friendly staff

I enjoy choosing Wagamama whenever I come to high street for some general window shopping. The food is good as well as the service.
There was a notable occasion that I must compliment the service. I came here two months ago ordering a ‘Cha Han’. I had one bite and felt that the rice was different, the rice was more moist than usual. I asked the waiter if they had changed their rice cooker/​whether it was broken. He knew that I knew what I was talking about and he answered my question saying that it broke over the weekend and they had to replace it with an old one temporarily, I asked if I could have a noodle dish instead. Service was efficient. At the end as I was getting ready to pay for the meal I read the check and noticed that he hadn’t charged me for the Rice and the Noodle dish. I expressed my thank you’s to him and the manager and they replied with more apologies and smiles.
Other than that the Fresh Fruit Juices are amazing! Please give them a try, you won’t regret it.

The service at Wagamama was terrific, helpful in finding good food on the menu and very polite and the staff, kept me engaged. I like it that I could use my resident card for an offer .And the biggest surprise of all, was the Chef smoking outside on a slab in uniform, but Wagamama gives you its all when it comes to service.

Excellent food, use your Canterbury resident’s card (student’s can get them too and they are for life) for buy one main meal get one free any day of the week. Amazing offer!

Popped in here on a flying visit to the city, but wish I hadn’t! Since starting on sushi diet I had been doing well but the experience of this paticular branch has not helped my transition. I’ve seen better layouts in Ronnie Barker’s Porridge !!
The food was not as good as I have had in other houses, but, to be fair, the staff were lovely. Soooo 3 stars.

Went here with my kids for the first time at the weekend. Loved it! All of us did! Service was swift and efficient. The food was delicious (mine was the first out and the kids all dived in!) and my fussy middle daughter was in heaven with the simple kids meals! The layout is clean and modern so thumbs up from us! I enjoyed it so much I went back without the kids on Monday!

This is the worst Wagamama I’ve ever been to. I used to live here and have been a number of times, every time I promise myself I’ll never go back. HOW can it be so bad? The stock for the ramen is always watery and flavourless as hell, the curries taste of curry powder and nothing else and they’re always out of at least 2 dishes on the menu. If you complain about any of this, you can tell they hear it all the time. It’s not even that cheap, go elsewhere.
Although the Brighton one is far, far better.

My first time eating at a Wagamama was in London. I told myself never again. And then a couple of friends in Canters haven’t tried it before and I wasn’t going to throw a fit so I went along with the plan. Who knows, maybe this time it’ll be passable. Are you kidding me? The food tastes like what you’d get when a bunch of college boys are experimenting in the kitchen, deciding to throw a hodgepodge of ingredients together and adding some Asian sauces and/​or spices to the mix.
Tesco packaged ramen is at least edible.
On the upside, the raw juices they have are pretty rad, I’d just order that alone if I were you

Sehr lecker, ein großes Angebot von Suppen mit Ramen-​Nudeln, Reis und Nudelgerichten und auch Desserts. Freundlicher Service, die Atmosphäre ein bisschen wie in einem Imbiss statt eines Restaurants und lange Tischreihen sagen offen: Entspannt euch und esst einfach. Eine sehr leckere Kette, mit freundlichem Personal!
Grünen Tee und Wasser gibt es kostenlos zum Essen.

I love this restaurant chain!
I ate here on my last night of being in England after studying there and I could not have chosen a better place to dine with my friends.
They didn’t have the salmon croquettes that I liked so much in one of the London establishments, but they did have the chocolate wasabi cake which I will never forget.

When I went to Wagamama Ltd in Canterbury the service was terrible, for example the waitresses were rude, very slow and miscalculated our bill! The food however was good although poorly presented. We liked the fact that you could see the chefs cooking in the kitchen but we didn’t like the way the tables were set out. However it’s okay value and a busy place if you want a quick bite to eat at lunch time. It’s probably healthier than most fast food places such as McD’s, Burger King, Subway etc. Worth a visit if you aren’t looking for immaculate service and perfect food, just something quick and filling.

I find the food at Wagamamas quite bland and over-​priced given that you have to sit on a bench, however you can’t knock the atmosphere and liveliness of the restaurant which makes it so popular. The format makes it easy to meet new people and take large groups of people with minimal fuss.

the food wasnt that good. although it was nice and warm. as you would expect. service was alright. however i thought it was pretty expensive being a student for the quality of food.

I love Wagamma’s. Great choice for veggies and non veggies alike, being a veggie they have a great choice for me!
Freshly cooked food you can see being made, always great service and a great atmosphere and great prices, what more could you want!

Definitely my favourite chain restaurant and a great place for a quick lunch. The food is fresh and tasty and no raw fish in sight!
The staff in every branch I have visited have been friendly and the restaurants are spotless. Even if you don’t think you like Japanese food, you should check this place out as I think there is something for everyone.

Wagamama ist eines der besten Kettenrestaurants in England und liegt sehr praktisch in der Innenstadt von Canterbury.
Wer günstig japanisch essen möchte sollte auf jedenfall bei Wagamamas essen. Hier in Cantebury sind die Atmosphäre und das Bedienungspersonal gut.
