Great service, Cod and chips were delicious, loved the football atmosphere on a sunday.

Nice at the weekend, standing room in the week. Selection of ales and mulled cider in the winter. They show the football if that’s what you are looking for.

This place provided just the atmosphere we were looking for on a week night happy hour. A few work friends and I were looking for a drink after work to blow off some steam before heading home. The place was packed with people and had a lively feeling flowing throughout the vast space. There were some tables outside with warming lamps, but we opted to hang out in back by the dart board. A few drinks later we were relaxed and parted ways for the evening. The drink selection was pretty good and the service was standard. A solid spot for a crowded(but not overcrowded) space for after work drinks.

A Fuller’s establishment. My dad and I were on holiday and staying in Canary Wharf, so we stopped by Cat & Canary. This pub if good if you’re craving pub food and a good place to watch a game. TVs are all around the establishment. Felt like a local place for all the businessmen working in the area, but still casual enough if your traveling through the area.

Great pub right on fishermans walk. As an American having to stay over here for a few months, I walked in sat down looked at menu and waited for waitress. Waited bout 10 minutes and no go(maybe didn’t see me) so I remember a cousin saying just to walk up to bar and put food in! And sure enough dude was super helpful and gave me a little bottle and spoon and I went back and sat down. Seems like an out of place local pub so I really appreciated it! Burger was amazing, fries were actually crispy so I appreciated that. $$$ beers tho if you ask me but hell, I’m only here spending works money!

A stone’s throw away from my office, so it works for me. There is nothing particularly special about Cat and Canary — it is just a standard pub in Canary Wharf full of suits. They have outdoor seating, which is nice. They have some good wines by the glass and a ton of beers to choose from. There really isn’t much difference between any of the pubs in the general vicinity.

My boyfriend and my friends came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I really liked this place. They had a great beer selection and a very cosy interior and lovely outdoor seating by the water. I enjoyed my meal, which was pasta in a red sauce with olives, capers and cheese, washed down with a leffe beer. I would gladly come back for another pub lunch soon!

The food options are ok. Portion sizes are good. Good crowds especially in the evenings during a footie match. A bit expensive though. For a couple of us with just 2 drinks and 2 mains it cost around 35 quid

Decent enough local bar in the Canary Wharf financial section of the Isle of Dogs. It was the closest bar to my office and I’d decided to go one afternoon for lunch, as I was ravenous. It’s a regular pub, so don’t expect a waitress to come by your table to take your order. Walk up to the bar to place your order and you’ll find the beers crisp and tasty, but that’s where your Cat & Canary experience should end. I, on the other hand, opted for different. The ribs sounded great, but unfortunately they were not only dry but seemed to have come from an animal that was in the depths of starvation. After sucking on the bones and using the helpful little bowl of lemon-water to clean my fingers(good call on the staff putting that on the plate with the ribs), I turned to my entrée of chicken breast with mozzarella accompanied by mash and veg. Welp, the same high heat for an extended amount of time seemed to have been used on the chicken, so while I became thirstier and ordered an additional beer, I can’t say that the meal did much for me. Long story short — eat elsewhere, but do come by and have a well-poured pint.

Okay, the kitchen close early but it worth getting there to have a good choice of draught beers with a nice view on the north docks. The Cat & Canary shared platter is good.

It’s a nice size pub friendly and not a bad pint they have sky to watch the sport and what else I liked is they have heated seating outside with a screen on the reverse side of the window so you can watch it outside, great for the summer.

For an American businessman in London, on business(obvi), the Cat and Canary appears to be «the place.» Hand-pulled beer. Yes please. Fish and Chips. I’ll have some. Attractive servers with British accents(obvi). Hubba hubba. The food is a-ok. The ambiance is a-ok. The beer is a-ok. Overall, a-ok. If you’re in the area, need a quick beer and a bit to eat, this is an a-ok option. However, keep in mind that someone did tell me sometimes it’s called the«plastic canary», of which I don’t get, but I think it’s because this appears to be the TGIF of London. If you have time, look for where the locals go. If you don’t, C&C will do just fine.

Modern spacious Fullers pub by the water. The only place I found in the area showing sport. This means it gets packed at the weekend as well as(I presume) being full of the besuited and smug on weekday evenings. While I don’t like the area, the pub looks nice enough inside(even a bit… dare I say it… traditional in appearance!) and they serve good beer(they even had a beer festival recently!).

It’s an alright place to go on a sunny day with a bunch of friends. We had a very nice waiter called Alex and he kept us topped up with drinks so no need to go to the bar — great! Nachos weren’t worth the money but if you’re just looking for somewhere for a beer on the water then it will do. There was 11 of us and plenty of space outside for a big group.

It is an alright pub. Shows some games on the tele(haha tele). Good dining area for groups of people. Normally go there for a pub lunch with some coworkers and Miguel. We even won a bottle of champagne by dropping our business cards in the ballot. Any place that gives me free alcohol is good in my books.

I’m just in country from the states, I’m jet lagged, hungry and looking for a quick bite on a Sunday night before bedding down for the business week. Now maybe I hit them on an off night, maybe too late, whatever… I stop in at 7:30PM and ask for a beer and then the conversation goes a little like this: Me: «Do you serve food here?» Gal bartendress: «We close at 8PM.»(I asked if you served food not your closing hour.) Me: «That’s all well and good, but do you serve food.» Gal bartendress: «The kitchen closes at 6PM.»(OK, in an obtuse way we are getting somewhere– you do have a kitchen so you must serve food, however it closes 2 hours before the bar closes… hmmm) Me: «I’ll take that beer I ordered.»(I really would have liked to look at the menu to see if it was worthy for a business lunch on Monday– oh well…) Good grief!

My old work mates and I get together once a week for a pub lunch. Get’s us out of the various places we’re at and together for some catch up over a pint and a meal. We rotate places, but the Cat and Canary is our bread and butter. It’s a Fullers pub, and they usually have about four of their ales on tap, with London Pride always on offer. The menu has decent variety and they have daily specials, which is what I usually go with. Food’s not incredible, but it’s more than passable for pub grub in Canary Wharf. It’s easy to get away with one of the specials and a pint for under a tenner.

The Cat and Canary, Canary Wharf is occasionally the place to meet up with friends before catching a movie in Cineworld across the ‘river’. It is usually pretty busy during after work hours. The service is quite slow I must say. But this alone will not be a deterrent for a few pints while waiting for friends to arrive although I wouldn’t fancy eating at this place as you will be waiting forever for them get the food to your table(tried and tested). It is in a good location, easily accessible and there is an outdoor drinking space for smokers.

My favourite bar(when it’s quiet, but more on later in the review). The bar is based on the nicer side of West India Quay. Great links to the DLR and fantastic location for the financial services and legal folk based in the Wharf. There is a great range of drinks and the atmosphere during peak times is bustling and not pretentious. It’s spacious and comfy and even in the busy times, most people tend to frequent where the smokers are leaving tables for the groups of non smokers to sit nicely in very good surroundings. Cons: When it’s busy, the staff do not seem to pick up the pace! ATALL!!! You can be stuck there for a good 15 minutes when the crowd is only 2 or 3 deep. The price can also be a factor but that’s Canary Wharf for you!
