Petrou Brothers

I ordered their rack of ribs, and they were the best tasting rack of ribs I’ve ever had in my life! I spent eleven years in Texas and that is pretty hard to beat. I’m glad I didn’t order the chips with them or I wouldn’t have been able to finish my ribs. The ribs were succulent, the meat was tender, and fell right off the bone. I was a mess covered with BBQ sauce all over my hands and mouth, but I was too happy to care. I did steal some of my girlfriend’s chips and they were perfectly fried, fresh potatoes, and delicious. I will be visiting Petrou Brothers again very soon to get my ribs on again.

Everything a good fish and chip shop should be. The most delicious battered fish I’ve had since I had one plucked freshly from the sea in Cornwall. The system seemed to be for every fish that was bought a new one was put in the frier meaning that you’re never eating some dried up thing that has sat since they fried a batch at the start of the day.
The staff were friendly and welcoming and this truly was fast food– almost instantly had my plate delivered to my table.
My one tip when visiting– don’t order too much! It’s delicious but plentiful, I went in starving and struggled hugely to finish a regular chips and mini cod… god knows who orders a large here as I’m by no means a small guy!
The sign outside says «Famous fish and chips» and they damn well should be. If you fancy fish and chips in Cambridge– go here.

Nobody I know can finish a full-​sized order of fish and chips without feeling sick. Don’t get me wrong, we all do finish it, but we suffer afterwards. For that reason, I am loving the trend toward smaller, cheaper portions that is happening at the moment. I ordered what they call their mini fish and chips, which wasn’t really mini at all. For £3.49 I got a full plate of yummy fresh fish, some decent chips and an absolute lake of mushy peas.
Quick, no-​nonesense chip shop service and quite nice indoor and outdoor seating.
