Esso Service Station

Good service, usually cheaper petrol (compared to BP and Shell in Cambridge, Tesco in Milton). They removed their tyre pressure adjustment facility.

There is not much one can say about a petrol station, but I have given this one five stars for several reasons: it is conveniently located north on a road leading from the city centre to the A14 and the Fens, which just happens to be my most direct route to and from work. It is accessible from both side of the road, yet there is rarely more than a couple of cars in the queue ahead of you. It has a shop, staffed by polite shop assistants, with the usual drinks, snacks and newspapers which by some miracle don’t seem to run out until quite late in the day, even at weekends. Most importantly, charges at least a penny less per litre of petrol than any other in the area, including the supermarkets’ stations — the fact that all the local taxis use it to fill up should be enough evidence for it being good value!
