Buttons Cleaning

I used Buttons Cleaning for nearly two years (from February 2010 to November 2011) for my property in Blackwater, Camberley where I am the landlord with two tenants living there at any time.
The initial spring clean was good after which they provided a maintenance clean every month for two hours cleaning one bathroom, a kitchen, a living room and a hallway and landing. The tenants made a number of complaint about the quality of the cleaning which I tried to address with the company numerous times. The response was very insulting towards my tenants — to quote the e-​mail: «It was also commented to me that one of the girls in the flat does seem to be in some strange underwear attire when the girls clean, it is not for us to say what adult events she gets up to…»
After repeated complaints from my tenants that the cleaners were chatting about what they were NOT going to clean rather than what they WERE going to clean, and that they always left significantly earlier than they were supposed/​paid to, I started inspecting their work, most notably a particular end-​of-​tenancy clean where I asked for a complete spring clean. The company suggested 6 hours which we agreed upon. They ended up charging me for 8 hours without agreeing first. The quality of the cleaning was so bad I took photographs and e-​mailed them to the company. They came to rectify a few days later yet all the issues I highlighted were completely missed, again!
In the e-​mail exchange regarding my complaints about their service, more insults and judgements about my tenants were made and they even said that the tenants should clean up themselves and that the property was too dirty to clean! What’s the point of cleaners then?! I quote some of the comments they made (draw your own conclusions!):
— «Sorry the bin was missed but it was full of rubbish and not really our place to empty it before cleaning. Your tenants could of made it empty for us. and using bin liners would help!!!»
— «Your tenants dont do much cleaning at all themselves it is always left for us… and we are always 2 hours there, an hour each girl because the kitchen and bathroom are always such a mess.»
Having been a landlord for many years, I can safely say my tenants are actually very clean and the property is kept in good order by them. The cleaners just seem completely averse to doing a worthy job.
There are many other cleaning companies in Camberley — I advise anyone looking for a good domestic cleaner to avoid Buttons Cleaning at all costs. The cleaners are complacent and the owner of the company is rude to customers and wholly unprofessional.
