The Diner is one of Butlin’s new restaurants opened in 2014. It looks awesome and the décor of the restaurant is very well done with vintage Coke and 7UP containers, a jukebox and faux dodgem cars for some of the seats. On offer food wise are a lot of American themed classics; burgers, hot dogs and milkshakes are all available.
The service was a bit of a let down however and we ended up waiting at the ‘wait here to be seated’ for around 10 minutes with the staff noticing and then carrying on whatever they were doing. This lack of good service was also reflected in the speed of our drinks and food arriving, with two desserts taking a whole 15 minutes to arrive in a far from full restaurant. The food was ok but not amazing.
For a little context we were at Butlins for an all adults music weekend in the middle of November so didn’t expect everything to be as good as usual, however a little service with a smile would have made all the difference.
