Pic’s Bar

I was in there 7pm Saturday 2014. £1.75 a pint of bitter, fantastic. An older guys bar, lots of jeans, Magic Radio station playing music. It is cheaper than spoons, it’s a bar.

Pic’s Bar is OK. It has even had a makeover quite recently — somebody in their management obviously thought lime green and lots of black a chic colour scheme to go with for the sign, etc. Pic’s also has outdoor seating which is pleasant enough for snacks and drinks.
But there is just something about it that is: not great. The crowd in here tends to quite a bit older than other nearby bars. The prices on their cocktails and beers aren’t bad and the layout has improved. The music (disco?) is also NOT GREAT but the atmosphere is alright when it is full.
I still can’t put my finger on the problem actually — maybe just because there is nothing that could make it a fun place to go, no potential even. It is just a bar and we all know that the best bars are not just bars…
