The Jinnie Inn

We visited the jinnie for thae first time last night 04/​04/​2012 and I can tell you we were pleasently suprised. We recieved a warm welcome with a smile and although we hadn’t booked we were quickly seated and our drinks order was taken. The Staff are friendly and proffesional and the food is amazing, great varied menu, and they don’t rush you along, all prepared fresh and at good price for the quality. We have eaten all over Burton and I can tell you this is a gem! we’ve already booked for next week. We are certain to become regulars here. This place is one of Burton’s best kept secrets. Thanks to all the staff we had a lovely evening.

Dined here a number of times and the food is always great. The staff are friendly and efficient. The outdoors area is lovely on a warm day but inside can get a bit cramped at busier times but I wouldn’t let that put you off. Definitely worth a visit.

Five stars for the new pizza oven! Excellent fresh pizza that is hands-​down better than Frankie and Bennies /​pizza hut /​dominoes etc.
Chocolate fondant dessert also excellent!

The Jinnie Inn in Rolleston-​on-​Dove is a popular location, both as a restaurant and a pub. On the night we visited the place was packed due to a 50^th Birthday Party and a televised England-​France rugby match on that night, as well as a packed restaurant. As there were five of us, we were given a round table, which was a good start, more sociable. The surroundings were modern in feel, but still retaining features like wooden beams, a glimpse into the age of the building. A fairly comprehensive menu with a decent variety of dishes, as well as some daily specials. Opting to skip the starters, we went straight for the mains, we were not disappointed. Amongst other dishes we had were homemade beef pie, king prawns encased in filo pastry and the biggest bowl of seafood tagliatelle I’ve ever seen! All very tasty and quite reasonably priced at around £8−12.
As I by chance had one of the smaller mains, I opted for a dessert, which were a little on the expensive side at £5, but the profiteroles were elegantly presented and encrusted with toasted walnuts and hazelnuts. An interesting take on a classic. Overall I was impressed with the quality of service, the standard of the food and the overall ambiance. We will definitely return.

This lovely little village pub has a really friendly, local atmosphere about it. Lunch time meals in the summer months are relaxing in the quaint outdoor cottage garden. Lunch indoors during the winter months next to the log fire or just reclining in the comfortable arm chairs is a heart warming joy.
The food is always excellent, from a large yet mainly traditional British menu. They have a well stocked wine menu and plenty of guest/​traditional beers & ales.
The ONLY downside is that the establishment is a bit small in size (indoors) and so on popular nights can get quite cramped but in the summers months the outdoor seating helps to alleviate this problem.

My hubby and I love this little pub. We walk the Jinny Trail from Stretton and head to the pub where it is full of friendly staff. Have had a meal a couple of times but it is quite a quirky menu so you need to like to try something different… Great atmosphere and great times had in this pub. There is a seating patio area out the front with umbrella’s and heat lamps. Quiz nights on Mondays: o)
