The Albion

The Albion should be a wonderful pub/​restaurant with its large well laid out garden and spacious car parks but alas a number of things conspire to make it less than average. The 2 for 1 concept sounds superficially good but think about what the offer actually is and you soon realize that it not quite what it sounds. If one person wants a steak and the other person wants a much cheaper option, the two for one price is based on the dearer of the two meals so you are, effectively, paying for two steaks. There is another flaw in the 2 for 1. If you are on your own and order a meal, you are paying the cost of two meals. Similarly, if there is an odd number of customers in your group, you pay for one extra meal. Whilst the beer is reasonably priced, the wine prices are excessive, the Corner House fairly close by has house wine at nearly half the price of the Albion’s cheapest offering. Unlike the Corner House, there are no screens for viewing sport so the Albion is empty from soon after 9 pm. All in all, a shame really!

We quite often visit this pub from work, and with friends. Nice friendly staff and great food. They have an offer of buy one get one free with all main meals and the food is cooked properly. Well worth a trip especially for food but be warned it gets very busy and sometimes you have to wait for a table.

great pub/​resaurant. this is a favourite of mine. great food and drink with a play area for kids. this has been a regular place to vist for many years now and is still just as good.

This is a beautiful pub/​restaurant on Shobnall Road in Burton.
I have been here a few times to take advantage of the 2 meals for £10 offer. To be honest I was just expecting ‘whack it in the microwave’ food but it was actually incredibly tasty and very well presented.
The staff are very friendly, too. I went up to the bar for a drink just after my food arrived and it nearly went cold because I was chatting to the barman for so long.
It is especially nice in the summertime as the garden, although next to a main road, it full of flowers and trees and is the perfect place to let your children run around.
