Very nice looking pub. Shame about the landlord. Turned up recently on a Sunday for lunch, tried to order from the menu and was told in no uncertain terms ‘don’t you understand what full means? Probably because your head’s so full of c**p.’ This in a pub with a lot of empty tables and no sign to say that they were not taking any bookings.
So, can’t comment on the food but will definitely not go back.
The Jolly Woodman, just round the corner, may not look so pretty but does great food and offers a really friendly welcome.
Having tried many of the pubs in the area, I have to say this is the worst reception I and my friends have ever had. They don’t deserve any business.

Excellent country pub!
This is a lovely, very small traditional pub just off Burnham Beeches. I would definitely recommend this pub for any one walking or cycling in the area who wants a hearty lunch and drink after their days exercise! They serve a selection of real ales and often have real ale festivals. The food they serve is all homecooked and well presented and huge portions! And also pub priced!
The garden is lovely — looking out onto fields and woods and there are lots of tables outside with heaters. (There are actualyl more tables outside than inside!)
