I went to Pennywell Farm a while back now, but the pignic event set up by Unilocal triggered my memory of it and provoked me to write this review. If you love pigs(like I do) then you will be in HEAVEN here. It is possibly the happiest I’ve ever been(who wouldn’t feel happy being surrounded by micropigs?!) There are of course other animals and people of all ages are welcome to visit and look round. The staff were friendly and informative, and their passion for the animals really came across. If you are passing through Devon then go go GO!

As I have an obsession with micro pigs my boyfriend took me here for my 23rd birthday. It was the most fun I could have had. So many piggy cuddles and the staff were very knowledgeable about the animals. We went on a really nice day so were able to enjoy the willow maze which is lots of fun and my boyfriend found a kinship with the huge shire horse living there. We saw the falconry show which was amazing. There were adorable sheep, goats, ferrets. As it was my birthday I was given a birthday rosette badge and allowed to feed the lambs first. I know this place is aimed at entertaining children but its one of the nicest days out I’ve had and really responds to those will a strong inner child. They also have a café that we didn’t really check out properly but they sold slush puppies and that’s all kinds of yum.

Having met the MD of the Farm and Wildlife Centre during another function, I took the opportunity to drive over and make a quick visit. What I saw in the short time I was there was very encouraging. Would certainly recommend to others as a place of intriguing diversity and so well set up with all ages in mind. A friendly and client-focussed staff add to the overall atmosphere. A good venue for a famly visit. Trust to visit for a longer viusit at some stage. Global Nomad

Took our young 2 ½ year old daughter whilst on holiday, she loved it, It provided a very good opportunity to get very close to the animals you can even enter the animal pens — if you wish. My daughter loved the pony ride and the pedal tractors. The park is very well run and I would say a cost effective way of spending most of the day. We ate in the café — the menu was limited but the food was inexpensive and the staff were very helpful — If we were to return we would bring a picnic as the café was crowded.

Not an enormous attraction but still well worth a visit for the day. Everything is clean and well maintained and lots of interaction with the animals is possible. You might even get to cuddle one of the mini pigs! Lots of displays and shows throughout the day, plenty of free parking and very reasonable entry. The day we went was very busy but there was still plenty of parking and the farm didn’t feel crowded at all. Although we didn’t eat in the café it seemed to be very popular and not too badly priced. A small but well stocked gift shop with plenty of things for all budgets.

We visited Pennywell twice on holiday last summer. The first time we went, our daughter crushed her finger in a gate and had to be taken to hospital for an overnight operation. The first aiders were really good, they calmed us all down efficiently, and gave us a drink, and gave us free tickets for entry another day. We did go back because what we had seen before the accident was really good. There are lots of animals, most of which are friendly enough to eat out of your hand. If you go at the right time of year there are baby ducks which you can pick up(awwww). They have two herds of deer(roe and red) which are very tame and will eat out your hand. There are several play areas, a maze, an assault course, and a little train ride. The park was clean and well kept, the toilets were well signed and maintained to a good standard, the food in the café was edible if a little on the pricey side. We had a great time, and I felt that the entrance fee was very reasonable. They have free onsite parking too.
