Date nights are a bit of a commodity for us right now, so when we do get a chance to go out, we want it to be somewhere worthwhile. After a few plans fell apart, we searched for a last minute option. Knowing Tamasha was just down the road and we wanted to eventually go there, I was able to get a table earlier that day(on a Saturday), which worried me slightly. However, when we walked through the doors, all worries dropped and we had a sense of what was to come. We were ushered to the bar as our table wasn’t going to be ready for a few minutes and we had two lovely cocktails in a very lively room. The bartender was top notch, made great suggestions and had a killer stache to boot! When we were finally seated and served, oh my, what a treat. I had the duck curry and it was phenomenal. I wanted something with a bit of a kick and this certainly delivered! As a bonus, they serve Mongoose beer on draft, which was a nice change from Cobra or Kingfisher. Overall, everything from the service, to the food, the décor, the presentation, the price, everything was very good and this is a place we will definitely coming back to the next time we want a really solid Indian food experience!

A good restaurant, always with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are attentive and know the menu well. The main highlight of the restaurant is the quality of the food, every time I have been here the food has been excellent. It is quite expensive and you can easily spend a lot of money. Overall, very good and recommend.

The place is quite decent but the pricing is quite steep for a place in Bromley. The food is good but definitely not worth the steep pricing. However, the service is fast and you can enjoy a calm surrounding atmosphere while eating.

I’m usually very picky about Indian food, and this place delivers on all aspect. Elegant ambiance, fantastic service, and mostly awesome food full of flavor. I’ve been there few times and both times it was excellent.

I used to go past this hotel so often and it always intrigued me, especially because at night it was lit up with green lighting! After a lot of trips past I decided to book a night here with my boyfriend and see if it was at all as mystical and cool as it seemed. I have to say that we were pretty disappointed, maybe our expectations were too high but the service wasn’t very good and the staff were not very attentive or quick to respond. It isn’t suitable for children as there appear to be pictures of the Karma Sutra around! So don’t take your kids here or anyone who is a little proud! The room we had was nice enough and the bathroom was clean so that was a plus, we slept comfortably but I wouldn’t go here again. There is also a restaurant attached, serving Indian food but we looked at the prices and decide that since Bromley town centre was minutes away we would eat in Town.

Top notch, it’s the best Indian food I’ve had in the area. Great décor & atmosphere, not your standard curry house, prices to match the décor!

A review of Tamasha needs to start with the price. It can’t be escaped from the fact that this is priced as central London and indeed is priced at Michelin Star level of Chapter One(also in Bromley). So with, the prices set out, can the restaurant meet these standards even if it hasn’t formally got the star? In the short of it, no. The restaurant is located on Widmore Road, but is set back from it and has its own carparking. It is very well decorated and really feels like the owners have taken pride and time in ensuring good service(plenty of staff) who are polite and well dressed. The menu is the right length. It isn’t too long but does cover a good selection of starters, mains and special dishes. Sadly, if you are booking on Toptable for the 20% discount they tend to run, the example prices are rather incorrect. Add £4 a main or so to the ‘sample prices. Their website doesn’t even appear to list prices. We started with Chicken Nilgiri Tikka and a Masaledar Kekda(soft shell crab) and this really was poor. The chicken had very little taste and was presented in small lumps on an empty white plate. The Soft Shell Crab, was soft, but was a single crab(RRP50p?) which had been abused with the deep frying and as such was salty /greasy and nothing else.(£6.75 and £8.95 respectively) We followed with Khyber Pas Raan(£15.95) and Dakshin Fish Masala(£13.95) with Green Chilli Pakora(£3.25) and Kashmiri Rice(£3.95). OF these the Kyber Pas Raan(Lamb Leg) was excellent. It was juciy and well cooked with a good sauce. There was also plenty of it. Presentation wise, it was a leg of lamb on a white plate with a slice of lemon poor, but taste wise, excellent. The Fish Masala(Tilapia grilled to perfection and stuffed with spicy crab mixture, served in a tangy moily sauce with a mango relish per their menu) was bland. It wasn’t spicy at all. I don’t like bland cooking from an Indian restaurant, it should be about colour, spice and flavour. Missing here. The Pakora were dreadful. Three small withered chilli encased in a thick deep fried batter. No taste. We finished most of everything because by our count including one beer and two soft drinks we’d hit £70+ before discount including 12.5% service. The people at the restaurant seemed to be there for birthdays(Champagne was free flowing) and there was live music which was nice. Our rating is for the atmosphere, good service and location. The missing 3 stars are for the lack of decent food.

Great restaurant. I would say the best Indian in Bromley but of course that’s debatable. Food is pricier than the average Indian restaurant in this area but worth it — if anything just for the ‘interesting’ artwork in the toilets(think Karma Sutra!). I’m vegetarian and always of have a good choice from the menu. There is a good amount of parking available out back, but it is also on a couple of bus routes and only 10⁄15 min walk from central Bromley. Book in advance because it always seems to be busy.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. It’s quite pricey though so go for a special occasion. Great food, good service, great bar(go early to have a drink in bar first) and brilliant atmosphere.

Tamasha is quite a large restaurant located on Widmore Road so you can’t miss it. I’ve been there quite a few times and whenever I’m there with my family they seat us wherever we want and wait on our every need. If you like spicy food then this is definitely the place to go. Even if your taste buds are suited to something more mild, I guarantee they will have something for you. The whole restaurant has a very intimate atmosphere and is good for any occasion.
