Your standard motorway service station, convenient but relentlessly busy. The car park has good access and is set out well in two long strips. Their are various outlets outside the main area, where you can get a takeaway coffee and cake, there’s also an ATM. Inside is a Starbucks selling a variety of cakes, patisseries and sandwiches/wraps, as well as their trademark coffee. Not a bad coffee but prohibitively expensive: two coffees, a small sandwich and a cookie — £12! Inside the complex, there is also the essential but highly unpleasant toilets, a Burger King and a WH Smith. The ‘smiths is the pick of the bunch selling newspapers, magazines, CDs, books, sweets and drinks; £1.29 for a small bottle of water though, just ridiculous! Talk about exploiting a captive audience.

Typical motorway service station, but i was just unfortunate to stop at this one. Each time I do I hit my head against the wall in my frustration that i am back in one. Welcome break should be renamed ‘Licenened to Print Money’ or dirty toilets, or unhelpfull staff or. well you get the point. Anyway would not normally review this type of place but just had to vent at the computer my anger at my stupidity of stopping at these places. The other half tells me to calm down and get a life, maybe I should, but can’t afford one now after the £5.49 for a breakfast bap and 1.99 for a mug of tea!!!
