I like this place, but it has a few things to mention. — want a seat? Good luck after 7pm… Always Packed — want a drink? Loads and pretty cheap — want to relax? Probably not gonna happen. — want hot fun? Yep, loads of it… Especially on a quirky event night… — want friends? Every time I enter guaranteed people I know. A must for the Easton pub crawl.

This is without doubt my favourite pub in Bristol. Our love affair started 10 years ago when I lived on Easton Road and despite now living in Fishponds I still consider this my local. But The Plough is far more than just a great local pub. It’s also home to a great sports club, the Easton Cowboys & Cowgirls. It’s a great live music venue with singers, bands and DJ’s most night of the week. It’s a great place to go and watch football, with multiple TV’s including a large outdoor screen in the smoking area. The drink prices are unbelievably reasonable with a can of thatchers gold costing a mere £2. There’s a pool table, smoking area and dance floor for boogieing the nights away till the early hours.

An Easton institution that may be a bit past its prime but still holding its own. After being run by the legendary Cliff for more years than I can possibly know the pub closed down after no buyer was found. Cliff ran a Carribean oasis in the inner city that welcomed all and had a diverse group of customers who all rubbed up together for punk gigs, Sunday quiz night(win a loaf of bread or even a pack of matches!) and Stevie Wonder’s Happy Birthday on the sound system and a free drink for anyone in there celebrating their big day. But the old spirit of the Plough has been resurrected and after a big re-fit several years back it is now as happening as ever. It may still be a bit raggedy around the edges but that’s part of the charm. The Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls football and cricket teams use the pub as their base and pre and post match celebrations can often be found. There’s a good range of bands and DJ nights on weekends. Needless to say there is plenty of booze to boot. This community watering hole continues to serve many purposes for Eastonians and extends a welcome to all.
