Before you dive in to these wise words about the world of spice and and all things nice you must first understand that they are tainted by the real ale consumed for the preceding 8 hours prior to my arrival. Perhaps not wise words at all… A party of 5, we were sat and our poppadom order was taken in mere moments. The service was friendly and forgiving of our excitable nature. An afternoon of drinking beers with old friends will do that to you. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time and very enjoyable it was too. I sometimes find a sit down curry can be a little bland and the meat somewhat chewy, as if it has been simmering all night, but this was not one of those occasions. There was a nice choice of food and the beer selection wasn’t bad for a curry house. The place was clean and had the standard curry house décor. All 5 of us enjoyed our meal and would visit the place again. I had a chicken Rogan which was very nicely spiced and flavoured. The nan breads were fresh, the rice wasn’t sticky and the Bangla beer was nicely chilled. Very few things deserve a full 100% in my book. Plus this is my first review and I can’t start out with 5 stars. No. Not when the mint was an ‘After eight’, I much prefer a chunky chocolate mint. They’re a world apart. 4 out of 5 then. My one gripe was the after eight mint. The mint and the slightly high price. My *two* gripes were the price and the mint, and the lack of real ale…
