Not impressed with this place at all. Went for a Sunday roast and all of us left feeling disappointed. You get hardly any veg with the roast dinner. The roast potatoes were nice but I put gravy on it and it completely ruined my meal as it was the strongest and saltiest gravy I’ve ever had. It completely overpowered the meal so all I could taste was salt. Basically do not go here for a roast it cost me £10 when I could have spent that £10 on a lovely Sunday roast elsewhere! The one nice thing I had was the mulled cider it is really sweet but that’s what I liked about it.

We went here one evening for a couple of pizzas and beers. The atmosphere was lively and relaxed and the food was good too. Nice crisp base — not too thick — and plenty of toppings. Overall, pretty good and we will be back!

This pub has SO much potential! It has one of the best layout, best locations and a seriously cool terrace area. What’s not to love? Unfortunately I’m 8 – 10 years too old :( While there is loads of good parts about the pub itself, unfortunately for me it seems to pull the wrong crowd. It is very studenty and on a weekend is very busy and rowdy. I’ve not eaten here but the menu actually looks pretty good. Classic pub grub with a bit of a ponsie twist! This could be one of the best pubs in Bristol. Sadly its not; for me anyway!

I really wanted to love the brass pig, it looks like a joint with potential. Unfortunately I was left disappointed and wanting. It started badly when I couldn’t book a Sunday roast over the phone. I tried for half a Sunday and all of a Wednesday. In the first case the phone was constantly engaged for about 4 hours. In the latter, no one answered my calls. Thankfully I did managed to book eventually online as emails are readily replied to and not disheartened we set out on a quiet Sunday. One of the glasses was dirty so we took it back and it was readily replaced. So the roast was luke warm, because we were outside, I was told. Still should be hot on arrival, I thought. The roast potatoes were hard on the inside, the chef’s been busy with the World Cup I was told, they could have replaced it I thought. To top it off, when the bill came we were charged for the extra coke that we took back for having a dirty glass! Overall not a bad meal, considering, but I just expected better and a better reaction to my unsatisfaction.

Occupying a prime site on the Clifton Triangle, The Brass Pig has all the ingredients to become a very popular nightspot. It is not just a prime site, but a huge site. Split over two floors, The Brass Pig has many different areas. Downstairs, there is a dancefloor and booths. Upstairs, there is a mini grand piano and a spacious terrace. While tea and coffee and also food is served during the day, The Brass Pig is clearly aiming to be a nightspot. It has only been open for less than a month, but it is already looking to extend its opening hours even later. I think that once The Brass Pig is more known about, it will draw the crowds away from bars like Mbargo, directly opposite on the other side of the Triangle. For the time being, however, it feels very quiet, even more so because it is such a huge site.
