This hotel is located in the square just off the busy Park Street which gives easy access to the bustle of Clifton but with tranquil surroundings to boot. I always stay here now when I’m in Bristol and would definitely recommend.

The Berkeley Square Hotel is a the sort of high-​end place that should really be out of any student’s budget. Fortunately for me however I was lucky enough to attend a friend’s lavish 21st there that was put on by some very generous parents. We spent most of our time in the sophisticated downstairs section that is available for private hire or just for a quiet drink. Speaking of which, the cocktails are superb, perfectly balanced and wonderfully presented concoctions. A screwdriver might seem like a fairly straightforward cocktail but the ratio of fresh orange to vodka with just the right amount vanilla ensured that it will stay in my memory as the best I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely polite, handing out delicious salmon and prawn canapes with the sort of frequency that could fill you up after 5 minutes. Now if only I could afford to drink there all the time!
