Open the picture up — go on — see the joke? Modern Jewellers in 70s font. OK that just makes me laugh then.
Actually despite the apalling shop front, this place has some nice pieces in it at reasonable prices. Expect pretty and traditional verging on bling jewellery rather than anything hippie or ultra-​modern. Being small it only holds one or two of each item so if you see something you should buy it then as it may have gone when you come back another week.
The shop assistant eyes me warily every time I go in — OK I’m part of the alternative culture but really she should have seen much, much worse in Staple Hill — but she does warm up very quickly and is always in the end very helpful.
