smart Set sport has to be one of the worst sports shops i have been to. All of their products are ludicrously over priced, and they have a very limited range of products. That said it is a very conveniently placed shop, i have regularly forgotten my gum guard and this is the spot that i always come to get them– despite the price. They have a reasonable range of trainers but seem to specialise in goggles and swim suits. I would recommend the shop at the top Black Boy hill, however if you cant then Smart Set will do.

Smart Set Sports has been a very convenient shop over the past few years and the only Sports shop that I know that isn’t either part of a huge chain or right in the middle of town(3 or so miles way). Sports shops like this remind me of the tiny village I grew up in and I’m glad this one has been around so long. On my last visit I went in looking for some goggles as this shop is perfectly positioned between my house and my gym. But, when it comes to goggles(and hats) I have quite a massive head, so I never expect to find any that are comfy or stay in my face with either breaking or letting water in. What I got when I went into the shop was really amazing personal service, the kind you can only get from shops like this. Certain goggles were recommended to me, but not just that, I was allowed to open the boxes and try them on. I got the impression she wanted me to leave with the best pair for me, not the most expensive pair(that would make them the best for them). I just imagine going into a larger sports store and trying to find help like that, I honestly don’t think I could. They always seem to have some great deals on running trainers, so keep your eyes peeled on the racks, usually by the front door.
