Every time I visit Silver Scene, my purse is always happily empty! This is because every time I visit the shop, I always buy something, as there’s so much to see, you can’t help notice something! The shop is situated in the Arcade near Starbucks in Bristol’s City Centre(close to what used to be the House of Fraser but is now Primark). Inside, it is a small shop filled with glass cabinets of sterling silver jewellery and lots of semi-precious stones like Amethyst, Garnet, Moonstone, Topaz etc etc. The price range tends to be quite high — from 5.00 ranging to 100. However, you can see why with some of the pieces with the large amounts of stones inlaid in the jewellery. The price you pay definitely reflects the quality, as I’ve had some pieces for 5 – 6 years now, like a plain pair of silver earrings. I’ve had no problems with them, and they’ve not broken at all. The staff are always very helpful. On asking whether I could change the tops of the earrings for butterfly backs(from hooks, as I always lose them) the staff told me to pinch the hooks once in, and I’ve not lost any, since! They also have strong product knowledge on how to look after silver, and the supposed properties of the stones, as well as birthstones, which is really helpful for birthday presents! Presentation is lovely as well, as all items come in a lovely Silver scene box. It is one of the few independent stores left in Bristol’s city centre, that is not part of a huge franchise, and the jewellery is so different to the usual boring stuff you would find in say in the larger brand names. Besides, it’s always nice to find that one special piece of jewellery that you love, and is slightly different. Of course, when the compliments come rolling in, it’s always a good thing!
