Small, but nice friendly welcome when we walked through the door. Menu was not extensive but we both enjoyed it. Very pleasant service from the staff. Ideal for a quick meal or a cup of coffee.

Say Pasta in Emerson’s green has a consistently friendly set of serving staff (I’ve never seen the same set of staff there twice, but they’ve all been a really friendly bunch). Friendly, but at the same time efficient. Never had a long wait, even when the restaurant has been full (which often happens in the evenings — worth booking). They are accomodating and helpful people, and they serve well and attentively but not intrusively.
The food is particularly good because there are some unusual, imaginative recipes and they really work. I can particularly recommend the bacon and banana pizza — yes, really! — which is a combination I found startlingly good, and a real discovery. There are mouth watering vegetarian options on the menu too — not an afterthought, these dishes prompt a confirmed carnivore to consider the vegetarian option by choice from time to time.
Cakes, as mentioned by other reviewers, are really good English tea-​house style cakes; there are other desserts available, and I’d say there are so many good things on the menu to try — starters, mains, and sweets — that you should count on coming back several times for more.

love meeting friends here for lunch. the bagels are fantastic and the cakes are scrummy.
